Journey

by

Sam Wilkinson

Walking along our lonely road,

Thinking of all the things we'll never know,

And as we're singing our song,

We can't help but shed a tear,

However much we tell you

We know what you will still hear,

Lies, lies and lies galore,

You couldn't take the truth no more,

Or maybe you just stopped trying,

And started lying,

Cause it's easier that way,

Don't you think?

You should take a step back,

Take a moment to blink,

When your open your eyes,

You realise,

That something here is not quite right,

You're lying in your leather chair,

Kick back your feet, throw back your hair,

Does your mind ever wonder to the people,

Still praying to the church steeple

Above,

They're searching in the stars for love,

When you've already had,

So much more than enough,

Oh yes or oh no is what you shout

When you find out

Some people must go,

Some time or another you know,

Your father or your mother you know,

And I know cause I been through it all,

But you wouldn't know a thing,

That's because you ain't been

Listening,

You've been in your own mind,

Maybe you should see what you'd find,

If you looked outside for a second,

Open your eyes you might see heaven,

But is heaven a place?

Or an emotion on your face?

Is it a thing that you can do?

Is it a thing that won't come true?

Cause it ain't come true for you, yet

But you don't seem to let that set

You back on hoping

For a heart that ain't been broken

Yet
